The talk will focus on an introduction to biometrics and neuromeasurement technologies, how they are used, and how they can be applied. These technologies include measuring brain activity with electroencephalography (EEG), nervous system activation with Galvanic Skin Response (GSR), and facial expressions with a camera. Combined with eye tracking, these methodologies produce a better understanding of how a person feels when interacting with a website or product.

About Ryan

Ryan (@RyanSPARKx) is a Ph.D. student in Human Factors and Applied Cognition at George Mason University. Before joining SPARK Experience, Ryan was a research assistant at George Mason University studying cognitive training, visual attention, and aging with the use of neuromeasurement technologies including MRI and EEG.

Now, Ryan blends his knowledge of UX with cognitive psychology, enabling him to gauge a user’s experience by using neurophysiological measurement. As a UX Neuroscientist at SPARK Experience, Ryan uses advanced biometric technology to take user research to a whole new level.
