Details

Do you fancy yourself a bicycling superstar or at least a single-speed dynamo who has a good shot at getting into Sundance? Then stuff that celebrity ego into a jersey, slather on some chamois cream and join me for a spirited ride on the W&OD Trail where we can be fabulous together.

******************************
The Audition (Summary):
******************************
"IS THIS WHERE I READ FOR THE PART?"
*8:00am: Arrival at the Shirlington Library
----
"WHAT IS MY MOTIVATION?"
*Ride the W&OD Trail for 23 miles @ 15+ mph
----
"HERE ARE YOUR LINES"
*8:15am: The Speech
----
"AAAAAAAND ACTION !!"
*8:20am: Rolling

******************************
The Script and Story-line (The Ride):
******************************
* NO personal assistants allowed on this ride (a.k.a. This is a no-sweep ride).
* All the rides are on the W&OD trail (out and back).
* The early "episodes" of the season will be 23 miles each.
* As the season progresses (and the stars demand more money) the mileage will increase, 23 to 40 to 55...maybe more!
* This is a solid workout and growth ride for those who think they can ride an advanced pace.
* If you feel you can ride 15mph for 23miles I encourage you to give this ride a try.
* If you sign up for this ride you must know how to take care of yourself and your bicycle.
* You must have a spare tube and the appropriate bike maintenance and tire changing tools (tire levers, pump, etc.) and you know how to change a tube.
* You will have Uber money and be able to get yourself home if necessary.
* If you actually want to be a bike mechanic (not just play one on TV) and learn how to change a tube/tire for future rides our Executive Producer, Gary, hosts tire-changing classes the third Tuesday of every month nearly year-round, check one out.
* I will be signing autographs and handing out my agent's phone number at the beginning of each ride. If you are separated from the group for any reason and do not make it back to Shirlington within a reasonable time-frame, please send me a text, voicemail or insert a comment to this ride that you are okay. I am a compassionate director and want to make sure everyone makes it back to their trailers safely.

******************************
Commercial Break:
******************************
At 11.5 miles we will stop at:
Whole Foods
143 Maple Ave E, Vienna, VA 22180
W&OD Mile Marker 11.5 (the store is literally a building to the right of this mile marker). They have water, bathrooms, and food if needed. The Whole Foods stop will be about a 15 minute break, after fifteen minutes it is back on the trail to continue the ride. If you arrive after everyone has already departed, please take a rest stop, remember that there is no sweep, do not feel rushed.

After the Whole Foods break we head straight back to Shirlington, just the way we came, on the fabulous W&OD!

* Advanced Level : You can do 20++ miles easily at a 15+ pace and / or handle various challenges as rain, night riding, or other odd cycling situations.
