The Ride: Detail
********************
For your riding pleasure NoVA CBG presents Cap2Cap&Back (an overnight bike ride). This is a new event for CBG so here's how I am envisioning this working...

-----------------------------------------------------
Saturday Morning 08/17:

We are starting in Richmond. We will drive to Richmond on Saturday morning which on average will take 2+ hours or so. Park in the Richmond Amtrak Station (secure and good for overnight parking) and we will get ourselves ready there.

Since some people may park in different areas or stay overnight on Friday we have designated our rollout meeting point to be:

-----------------------------------------------------
Saturday 08/17:

We ride the Virginia Capital Trail (VCT) from Richmond to Jamestown (CAP2CAP). RideWithGPS routes will be supplied as well as "rest stops" designated. Everyone is encouraged to ride this ride the way they want.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uhRmKrXrpr3fiXqn7N8FwZYEa_wJI5kG

Once we are at the end of the VCT we still have to ride our bikes to our designated hotels (whichever one you chose to stay at). The luggage SAG will meet us in the "hotel area" to distribute the luggage. Final details are still being worked out.
-----------------------------------------------------
Saturday Evening 08/17:

Once settled in our hotels (and rested) we will see if there is a consensus on where and when we want to grab a bite to eat. You are welcome to do your own thing as well. This will be fluid (think "Pants O'Clock" like we do in Ocean City). We will set up a group text or post on the meetup page for communication purposes.
-----------------------------------------------------
Sunday Morning 08/18:

Being fully rested... gather up in a central location at a designated time and ride our bikes from the hotels back to the trail-head in Jamestown.
-----------------------------------------------------
Sunday 08/18:

Head back the way we came the day before with rest stops etc.. etc..
-----------------------------------------------------
Sunday Evening 08/18:

Retrieve our cars, pats on the back for a great job well done, and drive back home from Richmond.

MUST READ Considerations:
******************************
A) Thank you to Marius and his wife for being our luggage SAG.

B) Thank you to Maile and Gina for bringing their VAN along for the ride. Details are still being worked out as far as who will be driving / using the van / etc..

C) This will be a No Sweep ride. This next part I am saying super nicely.
You can take whatever bicycle you want (Road / Cross / Touring) but you will have to be OK with routing / riding by yourself if that is how it pans out. Of course it always helps to have a riding buddy so if you set this up before the ride you'll be in good shape.

D) Some of you will want to ride fast, some will want to ride at a touring pace, as long as you are good with "doing your own thing" and communicating with me (Gary) about your current situation then I'm OK if you're OK. I just need to know everyone is safe and in a good place.

E) Garmin Route / Cue Sheets will be supplied (see top section as it has been updated as of 08/13)

F) Have I forgot stuff, hells yeah, but we will figure it out together one crisis at a time :)
