Details

15 mph (when not climbing hills) ** 23 miles (total) ** Road Bikes / Fast Hybrids ** Sweep
******************************
Do you think you're meant for the bright lights of HolleyW&OD but need to catch your "big break" first? Then come on out for this "B-Movie" acting role (ride). Every great movie needs its "B-Movie" for the drive in Double Feature and this is it.

This "B-Movie" Edition of The HOLLEYW&OD Ride of Fame is a growth ride. Gary will be directing this "Creature Feature" for those that want to try The HOLLEYW&OD Ride of Fame at a slightly slower pace. Just like on Thirsty Thursday Gary will pace this ride at no faster than 15mph so you can see just how well this suits you and your acting ability. Gary will also be there (lead / sweep / etc..) to assist if anyone has any bicycle issues or forgets their lines.

******************************
The Audition (Summary):
******************************
"IS THIS WHERE THE 'SCREAM QUEENS' ASSEMBLE?"
*8:00am: Arrival at the Shirlington Library
----
"WHAT IS MY MOTIVATION?"
*Ride the W&OD Trail for 23 miles @ 15 mph.
----
"WHAT'S MY LINE AGAIN!?! ... 'OH NO GODZILLA!'"
*8:15am: The Speech
----
"AAAAAAAND CUE THE MONSTER!!"
*8:30am: Rolling

******************************
The Script and Story-line (The Ride):
******************************
* Gary will be your acting coach to familiarize you with the route and be there in case you need any assistance.
* All the rides are on the W&OD trail (out and back).
* This "growth" ride will be 23 miles (Whole Foods and Back) at an approximate pace of 15 mph.
* You must have a spare tube and the appropriate bike maintenance and tire changing tools (tire levers, pump, etc.).
* If you actually want to be a bike mechanic (not just play one on TV) and learn how to change a tube/tire for future rides our Executive Producer, Gary, hosts tire-changing classes the third Tuesday of every month nearly year-round, check one out.
* I will be signing autographs and handing out my agent's phone number at the beginning of each ride. If you are separated from the group for any reason and do not make it back to Shirlington within a reasonable time-frame, please send me a text, voicemail or insert a comment to this ride that you are okay.

******************************
Commercial Break (Turn Around Point):
******************************
At 11.5 miles we will stop at:
Whole Foods
143 Maple Ave E, Vienna, VA 22180

W&OD Mile Marker 11.5 (the store is literally a building to the right of this mile marker). They have water, bathrooms, and food if needed. The Whole Foods stop will be about a 15 minute break, after fifteen minutes it is back on the trail to continue the ride.

After the Whole Foods break we head straight back to Shirlington, just the way we came, on the fabulous W&OD!

The Wrap Party (The Ride After The Ride):
******************************
We will grab a coffee & pastry from Peet's Coffee or Best Buns and relax in front of the library patting ourselves on the back for an acting job done well. "Did you hear how loud I screamed when the Blob attacked me?"

Other Fine Programming (Ride Level Chart):
******************************
NoVA CBG tries to accommodate all levels of cyclists by offering different types of rides. We just ask that you come to the ride that suits your current riding ability the best.
