The Ride: Detail
********************
For your riding pleasure NoVA CBG and Spokes presents The Custard Cruise.

This is a casual paced ride of about 12 mph pace / 10 miles distance and is a "No Drop" ride. The route is a loop that takes quiet neighborhood streets from the Spokes Etc. bike shop to the I-395 fly-over through Shirlington and on to the Four Mile Run Trail where we will meet up with the Mount Vernon Trail. We then cross over to Slater's Lane and down the Potomac Yard Trail arriving in Del Ray for our custard. We head deeper into Alexandria to face the hill MEDUSA... and then back to the store along King Street using the new bike lanes.

This type of ride is called a "growth" ride since as the weeks continue we hope to build endurance and confidence. This route has a little bit of everything, some flat riding, some hill riding, some riding on bike trails, some riding in bike lanes, and some riding in the street (with light traffic).
