July Meeting -- Jon Neubauer on Multilingual Joomla! Websites

Yes, we ARE meeting this month! The delay in posting was due to our discussion on the list as to whether we would try other locations. It seems best to continue with the Kings Park Library location but let us know if you would prefer Old Town, Reston, or DC for future meetings!

Jon Neubauer will speak on multilingual sites in Joomla! 2.5!  One of the last areas that in many regards is "foreign"  is true multi-lingual support. Being able to seamlessly present your content in multiple languages while still preserving a good user experience. We'll take a look at how easy it is to create a truly multi-lingual, translated site for your visitors with Joomla! 2.5, and peer into the future of truly international websites and what that means for businesses and organizations around the world.

Jon Neubauer is an experienced Joomla! developer based out of Charlotte, NC.  As an enthusiastic Joomla! Community member, you'll find Jon in many places including the Bug Squad, Joomla! Community Magazine, Joomla! Documentation, and elsewhere.

In addition, we will be discussing plans for the website, and the JoomlaDay DC we are planning for October 6th! And taking your Joomla! questions!

So come out or attend remotely. Hope to see you!

Here is the virtual attendance dial-in. Please remember to mute yourself if you are making noise or causing an echo.

Excellent overview of the multilingual features in Joomla! I am currently working on a site that is going to be multilingual, this webinar could not have come at a better time.

Fabrik is a terrific extension. There are lots of fans and advanced users of it on the Google group list, so -- what Bruce said: sign up and ask.

Hi Terry. This question has nothing to do with last night's meeting. You'll get a much better response if you post your question to our Google Group (novajoomla). It was great meeting you! -- Bruce

Great session. Very informative from both an architecture and tactical perspective.
Wonderful opportunity to get to know the Joomla folks on a personal level, as well.
