It sucked that they just did it without giving us an option but i like it a lot it really does help.

I'm a proponent of minimalism in code, architecture, at home and in general -- and I appreciate the new GUI overall, but I feel Google has gone too far in some areas and dropped the ball in others.

The "Settings > Configure Inbox > Tabs" toggle should be in the main toolbar across the top -- not hidden under two submenu levels -- it's a form of filter and would be more useful if exposed at the top.

The new "drafts" messages across the bottom are too wide -- there's no need to show so much of the message subject therein and laptops accommodate too few open messages across the browser's bottom edge.

The left hand labels/folders column should be collapsible and the color blocks on the right side of individual labels should be located on the left.

Users should be able to toggle the order of threaded messages -- I'd prefer to have the most recent message in a thread at the top.

Most clickable icon/buttons have a description when mousing over them -- why not include the keyboard shortcut in their description? As it is implemented now, users have to Google Gmail shortcuts -- the is a massive usability failure -- ball dropped.
