Re: [newtech-1] Looking iPhone app for feedback...

Hi Mike. Nice work. Multi-language is alot to coordinate. :)

As feedback, my main design inspiration for language learning and quizzes has been Mindsnacks:

While not perfect, they have a nice arrangement of games and lessons that carry the learner through the process.

One observation about your wires is that you have repeated categories "Animals #1, #2..." for each of the games. It might make sense to keep the learner focused on a single lesson at the time, with the ability to choose different games. This keep the cognitive load low, as I notice that the New Nav homescreen now have more information than the Old Nav.

A feature I know I've lacked with Mindsnacks, but that you address, is being able to flow through different lessons quickly. For me, it would be nice to be able to select which of the available categories I'd like to learn, and then study from those words with a game (ie, select "Animals #1, Animals #2, Colors, Family #1" all at the same time).

    I hope that helps!  Louis

Hi everyone,
For the past three years, I've stuck with a basic navigation and design as I built out the functionality for my iPhone app.  Now, along with the release of iOS7,  I'm going to redesign my app.

Yesterday I mapped out the flow for most of the screens in my iPhone app and put the picture on my site.

I'm looking for feedback and ideas for the redesign.  The center of the picture has a new home screen that I've been building.  Any help is appreciated,  even it's as simple as "check out this other app, I love the design."  There's a link to the free version of my app in my sig.  Thanks.
