This is one of the biggest weekends up in Mount Washington. It is a party at Mount Washington of downhill skiers and snowboarders who hike up Tuckerman's and ski or snowboard it down. You can also bring a sled and sled it down. I am not a good skier or snowboarder but I might sled Tuckerman's down. I want to hike up Tucks via Hillman's Highway, summit Mount Washington and maybe sled it down. Skiers and snowboarders are welcome to join. Those who just want to hike Mount Washington up and down are also welcome to come.

Here's a more detailed map of the lines. The key lines are 6. Hillman’s Highway 7. Duchess 8. Left Gully 10. The Chute 14. The Icefall 15. The Lip 16. The Sluice 17. Right Gully. The lines range from sustained pitches of 30 degrees to 60 degrees (the headwall has a max pitch of 90 degrees - vertical!)

No beginners please. This is a tough hike even in good conditions. The weather in April can range from -40 to 60F. So be prepared regardless.

You will need (all required):

- Base layer

- Fleece

- Balaclava

- Gloves and mittens

- Hat

- Ice Axe

- Crampons

- Helmet

- Puffy Jacket

- Backcountry ski/board gear rental is available at EMS North Conway or IME in North Conway

Other Activities:

Wildcat Mountain Ski Area

Wildcat is literally across the street from the (Pinkham Notch Visitor Center), and nearly every photo of the mountain has some view of Mt Washington in its horizon! Due to its proximity to Mt Washington and the Presidential Range, Wildcat often enjoys a long Spring skiing season. With a summit of over 4,000 feet, Wildcat has the highest elevation of any ski resort in New Hampshire or Vermont.

We will carpool up to NH. When the event gets closer post in the comments section whether you are driving or need a ride to arrange the rides.
