Say hi when you join. We will use it to coordinate, to find each other, to share pictures and location. It works better than Meetup so we use it for large events.

5 years ago we did this hike and it was so much fun. We ended up running into a wedding party at the reservoir and hanging out there until 7am. Let's see what happens this year.

The plan:

For those in the city let’s meet up for dinner and drinks around 7:30pm near GC. I will post a pre-event for that. We will catch the 10:47pm. If you’re not getting dinner with us then please meet us at GC at 10:25pm. We will get off at Cold Spring at 12:04am.

We will start hiking up Breakneck a little bit past midnight. We will take our time and stop to take in the views so that we can reach the fire tower on Mount Beacon at around sunrise and then probably head over to the reservoir after. Everyone has to contribute some booze since we are celebrating so please bring a bottle of wine or beer or your preferred.

Those driving please meet us the Cold Spring train station at midnight so that you can shuttle the hikers on the train to the trailhead.

The hike to the reservoir is about 5 miles. Plan after the hike is to get brunch in Beacon and hit a nearby swimming hole after. If we have time perhaps we can spend a few hours at DIA beacon.

You will need a headlamp.

This is not a very hard hike. It's perfect for beginner to intermediate hikers who are fit and don't have a fear of heights. Breakneck Ridge is really steep and exhausting but rewarding when you are done hiking it.

Also if you RSVP YES please make sure to show up.

Any questions, feel free to message me.
