April: Love & Attraction

One-to-One Relationships: Thoughts, Observations & Opinions of An Astrologer

As Tennyson said, in Spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to love, and so we will be examining some widely-held beliefs and fantasies about love, relationships and how astrology applies to it all. This talk will start at a very basic beginner's intro level and move into more advanced areas as it progresses.

Anthony S. Picco has been professionally reading natal charts since 1986, and likes to think of himself as a very down-to-earth, “meat-and-potatoes” kind of astrologer, preferring to rely on tried and true basics. His blog is at, and he has a regular show on BlogTalkRadio’s Angels & Warriors station with host Dawn Tevy, every other Tuesday evening.

Outline & Directions:

The meetup takes place at the Theosophical Society, which is right next to Quest Bookshop. You may enter through the bookshop before 7pm (when it closes) or to the left of the bookshop after 7pm. A sign will be posted. The following is a rough outline. Please come on time so you can introduce yourself.

7:00 - 7:15 - Brief intros from attendees
7:15 - 8:30 - Talk/presentation
8:30 onward - Socializing

In line with the non-profit model, the goal is to collect just enough money to pay for expenses including room rental, meetup fees, and hopefully some compensation for the speaker. The hope is that a consistent amount of $5 from everyone each meetup will cover costs, averaged over the long term.

I notice a lot more downloads on my recording for the March Meetup than for the other two I recorded. I didn't record April's, because Tony said he was recording it; I don't know if he intends to make his recording available to the group, though.

You made two very important points in your lecture last night.

One: any novice could comprehend the importance of learning how a couple operate together and how this knowing makes a relationship compassionate, lasting and grounding.

Second:the advanced astrologers demonstrated that independately we positively agreed with your apllication of the axioms of astrology.

Really interesting for a beginner! I enjoyed it very much. Yes, it can happen in group talks that people start asking questions and wanting to talk about what they know, but that is not the lecturer's fault. I feel like he tried to turn the personal chart questions into learning experiences for all of us as best he could. Tony, I really enjoyed the lecture and also your very reasoned approach to astrology as a guide/fact-giver not a predictor. I hope you lecture again!

I felt like the session was all over the place and missing focus. Great speaker (Cap's are always good and leading), but I left feeling that there was no real depth to the discussion.

You did show up a mite late; the meat of the talk was up front. It did seem that the questions near the end were on the "please interpret my chart" types, but they did serve as useful illustrations of the points Tony brought up, and the audience appeared to be interested.

Mendel... you're right... the chat was designed to be an overview... sometimes our lectures become a little overwhelming to beginners, so I specifically catered this to be an overall "big picture" look at relationships and astrology

Tony Picco conducted a informative and insightful presentation. He covered a vast amount of information in a limited amount of time. It was excellent!

I'm giving an astrology workshop on the 6th; would it be OK if I gave an announcement about this (I'm definitely going to suggest joining the group).
