Join us for the LAST Campfire Friday of the year!
The National Parks Service offers weekly "campfire Fridays" at NYC's very own Jacob Riis Beach, within the Gateway Recreation Area. There will be live bands and lots of food available for purchase in the main recreation area and a campfire and singalong on the beach. There also MIGHT be s'mores but I can't guarantee that.
Feel free to bring your own instruments to play at the event.
We'll meet at 5:30pm at the arch under Grand Army Plaza, wheels down at 5:45pm. It's an early ride but it will take an hour and a half to ride to the beach. If you can't make that early of a start, you can ride down on your own or look up subway/bus/ferry directions below. The campfire will take place at the Wise Clock at Bay 6 (turn left when you get on the beach and walk past the food vendors until you see the clock on the beach).
Please make sure your tires are inflated and your bike is in good working condition so you don't get stuck with a flat tire. Bring a lock and money for food if you like. The ride back home will be dark so it's essential to bring front and rear lights.
I need the RSVP count to accurately reflect how many people are actually joining the ride since I can't handle more than 20 people on my own. If you'll be meeting us there, please do not RSVP for the ride; just meet us there!
I'll lead the ride back up to Grand Army Plaza afterward but you can also take the bus/train/ferry home.
