Ride to the Redhook ball fields

We'll meet in Washington Square Park at the arch on the north side of the park, bike down through Manhattan, over the Brooklyn Bridge and into Red Hook by the ball fields. At the corner of Clinton and Bay street, we should find a nice selection of food from street vendors. This is mainly Central American fare. I recently tried this for the first time, and it was great -- the food was phenomenal and the people were very friendly. Finding vegetarian food was challenging at times, but totally doable -- everyone there was very helpful even when I asked them annoying questions.
http://events.nytimes... Note for beginner/rusty cyclists: unlike last ride which was almost entirely on a greenway, we'll be doing the majority of riding on the streets in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I'll avoid busy streets as much as possible, but there will be certain segments that involve heavy city traffic. Here's the route (not set in stone):

I thought it would have been nice if there were a leader at the front who basically kept going and someone at the back to make sure that no one was left behind. We had to stop and wait far too often. But the food was good. Good idea!

The food from the ballfields was awesome, as was the spontaneous key lime pie. I really enjoyed meeting everyone.

Had a good time - sorry I joined in late and left early, had some other things on the plan for the day. Hope to join in another sometime.

Fun and tasty cheap food. Enjoyed the ride through Red Hook and the surprise trip to the Key Lime Pie place.

Nice ride but food was only so-so. Then again, Spanish/Latin American food is not my favorite.
