Full-Time Mid-Sr. Ruby on Rails Developer Position

Post #: 4
Priori Legal is looking for an experienced web developer to join our team. We are a well-funded startup that launched our beta a few months ago. This is an opportunity to work on a small, passionate, and collaborative team seeking to innovate and disrupt how people find, retain, pay for, and track legal services. We’re creating an exclusive, vetted network of lawyers offering rates not available on the open market.

Our site is built in Ruby on Rails and Angular.js, deployed to Heroku, and backed by Postgres. Our ideal candidate has several years of experience building and maintaining production web applications. This developer will refine existing features and conceptualize and develop new features in response to user feedback.

Our Criteria
- Ideally 4+ years of professional web development experience
- 2+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Experience with TDD
- A strong communicator
- Passion for improving the product, user experience, and code quality
- A plus if you have experience with Angular.js

Your Role
You would be the second full-time developer on our team (in addition to two contractors). We sometimes pair program when we feel the need to, but it is less than half the time. We prefer one well-written, well-thought-out, and well-tested feature to three quickly developed ones.

You would be expected to do the following:
- Refactor, build, and maintain a production quality Rails 3 Web Application
- Help in transitioning portions of the front-end to using Angular.js
- Maintain good test coverage using rspec and jasmine
- Use Git for version control
- Front-end development using JavaScript, jQuery, Angular.js, and Bootstrap
- Participate in scrums, planning meetings, retrospectives, and code reviews

Benefits & Compensation
- Competitive salary (commensurate with experience but expected to be in the range of $80k - $110k)
- Equity
- Health insurance
- Flexible hours
- Must work full-time from our Manhattan-based office (occasional work from home is fine)
- 4 weeks of vacation
