SuperCollider at the Wooly

We still have room for presenters, so speak up if you have a project or topic that you'd like to present. If we don't hear from anyone we'll plan on dissecting some SC tweets and covering the basics.

a little something from hjh regarding Nick's experiments with Pbinding envelopes:

    > any idea how can i send an envelope to a synth using pbind?

    \freq, [~env]

The reason why ~env by itself doesn't work is that Pbind makes streams for every value pattern. Env:asStream returns a Routine that "samples" the envelope according to the time elapsed since the stream started. You have to wrap it in something to prevent this.

If you try ~env.asArray, then the event will contain an array of frequencies. It will multichannel-expand the array into multiple synths, which is also not what you want. But if the Env array is wrapped in another array, the event interprets it as one value, making one synth, and it happens that the value is an array (which will be sent as an array).

You can also use Pfunc { [~env] }.
