Greenpoint Open Art Studios and other highlights!

NO G TRAIN BETWEEN CHURCH AND BEDFORD AVENUES. TAKE 7 TRAIN FROM MANHATTAN TO COURT SQUARE, THEN TAKE G TO MEETING PLACE.
Numerous artists will be opening their studios to the public in Greenpoint, Brooklyn this weekend. We'll visit the largest studio buildings and explore this historic but rapidly changing neighborhood, with its curious mix of Polish immigrants and young artists and hipsters. We'll view some of the elegant 19th-century mansions and churches, the many Polish stores, and the influx of quirky, innovative places catering to the newcomers.

DISTANCE: About 3 miles. We'll finish at around 430 PM, but you can leave earlier, of course.

LATE LUNCH: Bring your own. We'll start eating in a riverside park at around 2:30.

COST: $1 CASH to help cover Meetup's annual $390 organizer fee.

TRANSPORTATION: 7 train to Court Square. Then G train two stops to Greenpoint Ave. (No G between Church Ave. and Bedford Ave.) Google MTA planned service changes for weekend changes on your subway lines.
