The contract is for 3 months.

Job Title:                    User Interface Developer – Contract 3 month

 

Summary purpose of job  

Interface Developer to develop standards-based, cross-browser, accessible web pages from wireframes and design mockups. This role will involve working closely with our internal user experience team and developers as well as external vendors to see that pages are integrated correctly. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the DOM, (X)HTML, CSS (syntax and application) and JavaScript. A working knowledge of ColdFusion and PHP is desired.

 

Key accountabilities:  Work extensively implementing creating HTML/CSS templates and integrating them with dynamic page elements Work on multiple projects and jobs simultaneously requiring stringent attention to detail and excellent time-management capabilities. Run cross-browser tests as part of UAT process

 

Decision rights

·        Schedule commitments for individual projects.

 

Performance measures

·        Complete execution of assignments and requests in a timely manner.

·        Minimal rework when implementing approved designs.

·        Quality of code as judged by peers

·        Quality of interaction with team members

 

Skills and capabilities profile

·        Excellent proficiency in the following: Semantic (X)HTML, table-less CSS (syntax and application) and JavaScript

·        The DOM and working knowledge of some php and ColdFusion

preferred. At the very least, understanding of how these technologies are used on the web and a familiarity with programming ideals.

·        Experience building website templates from layered design comps preferred and/or experience modifying them

·        Experience building website templates from wire frames in accordance with design standards

·        Knowledge of browser differences/limitations and how to create cross-browser solutions.

·        3 years experience working in a professional, team-oriented environment and/or experience working on commercial sites

·        Knowledge of Content Management Systems and what they offer;

Experience building templates or editing content within them preferred.

·        Strong attention to detail and quality assurance required

·        Able to work on multiple projects and work to deadlines

·        Strong design aesthetic also a plus
