Vegucated Screening with filmmaker Marisa Miller Wolfson

Join MCCNY for a screening of "Vegucated" with filmmaker Marisa Miller Wolfson.

Vegucated is a feature-length documentary that follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks. There’s Brian, the bacon-loving bachelor who eats out all the time, Ellen, the single mom who prefers comedy to cooking, and Tesla, the college student who avoids vegetables and bans beans. They have no idea that so much more than steak is at stake and that the fate of the world may fall on their plates.

Can their conviction carry them when times get tough? What about on family vacations fraught with skeptical step-dads, carnivorous cousins, and breakfast buffets?

Join us after the film and discussion for a reception featuring vegan snacks.

Metropolitan Community Church of New York provides a spiritual home for the LGBTQ and Allied community, open to all. Through MCCNY Charities emergency shelter and services are provided to over 1,000 homeless youth per year and the Sylvia Rivera Food Pantry provides 500 bag lunches and 200 bags of groceries per week to those in need. MCCNY also houses the Global Justice Institute which provides staff support for human rights work and spiritual activism around the world.
