The New York City Psychedelic Society Presents: Sound and Breathwork with Rob Heffernan

While psychedelics bring us into another level of consciousness, here we do the work to move with the breath into a place of heightened awareness. In doing so, we create space for transformation. This often leads to deep emotional and psychological processes which can be at times difficult, healing, or blissful.

Rob is a certified Shamanic Breathwork Facilitator and a certified Sound and Music Practitioner. He has been involved with sacred medicine in the Peruvian vegetalismo and the Santo Daime traditions for the last 18 years. He’s also been immersed in the study and practice of Buddhist Dharma for several decades.

The workshop will begin with a sound meditation, moving into 1 hour of breathwork, with time for integration afterward. If you are new to breathwork, be aware this modality can evoke altered states similar to that of the psychedelic experience where deep levels of consciousness can be reached. Please come prepared for potential journeying. It is also an excellent tool for integration and a powerful healing modality in and of itself!

Important note, please read! You will need to bring the following equipment:

Yoga mat or something equally comfortable to lay on
A sheet or blanket should you get cold
A pillow or something to rest your head on
Eye shades if you have them (we may have some extras should you need them)
(optional) Water to sip
(optional) some light snacks like fruit and nuts for after
