ROAD TRIP! Save the Date
Food Waste Management at St. John?s University

On Wednesday, Sept. 22, we?ll be journeying to the Borough of Queens and St. John?s University for a firsthand look at The Rocket food waste composting system and how it fits in the university?s food waste management strategy. Our hosts have graciously offered to provide breakfast, so we?ll be convening at 9:30 am for food, coffee and networking, with our program scheduled to start at 10 am. Tom Goldsmith, Director of Energy and Environmental Conservation at St. John?s, will explain the food waste program and lead us on a tour starting in the food preparation area, moving to the composting area, and ending in the Student Community Garden where most of the compost generated from The Rocket is used. Our program will also feature an informal update on the food waste programs at NYU and Columbia. The breakfast and meeting will be held in the Donovan Hall Community Room. Entrance is at the rear of Donovan Hall.
See detailed directions below.
