New Event: July MNYCEM Book Club - Heat

Announcing a new event for The Metro NYC Environmental Meetup!

What: July MNYCEM Book Club - Heat

When: Wednesday, July 25, 7:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Event Description: For July, we'll be reading Heat by George Monbiot, a well respected British journalist. This is a great synthesis of climate change science, politics and solutions. It's well researched, well argued and a surprisingly easy read (despite the harsh reality of the subject matter). Personally, I feel the entire world needs to read this book!

Some reviews:
The Times says ?I defy you to read this book and not feel motivated to change?.

Naomi Klein says ?With a dazzling command of science and a relentless faith in people, George Monbiot writes about social change with his eyes wide open. I never miss reading him.?

Sir John Houghton, former head of the Met Office says ?It is the best book I know that succintly presents stark facts coupled with a broad, balanced and practical perspective of the technical and political challenges ahead.?

For more about the author, click here: Monbiot Bio.
You can also click around that site to find more about the book.

Some of you may already know the restaurant Mana. For the others: this place has great fresh produce, all vegetarian menu. They do fun stuff with tofu and use organic when possible.

Hope to see you there!
