Announcing a new event for The Metro NYC Environmental Meetup!

What: Volunteer in a community garden with the Green Guerillas!

When: Saturday, August 4, 11:00 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Event Description: Volunteer in a community garden with the Green Guerillas!

Summer is here! Zucchini are ready for harvest, coneflowers are blooming,
and there seem to be weeds, everywhere. Dig in with community
gardeners, neighborhood residents, city-wide volunteers, and Green
Guerillas at community gardens that need a dose of people power. Plant,
water, weed, and help cultivate community.

We'll be volunteering at the community garden near Marcus Garvey Memorial Park in Harlem on Saturday, August 4th 11 am to 3 pm. If you can come only part of the time that's okay, just please indicate as much in your reply. The co-ordinator said they could really use some help so hopefully we can be of assistance. Please wear old clothes since we'll be getting dirty!

Nearest Subway: 2/3 125th St. Stop
Just a few blocks from the A/B/C/D/4/5/6 125th St stops and Metro North 125th St. Stop

Green Guerillas uses a unique mix of education, organizing, and advocacy to help people cultivate community gardens, sustain grassroots groups and coalitions, engage youth, paint colorful murals, and address issues critical to the future of their gardens.

Hope you can make it!
