Herbal Boot Camp

Join us for a weekend of herbal immersion as we identify, harvest, put-up and prepare some of the abundant herbs in our fields and forest. Adriana will introduce and expound upon the legacy and lore of Dandelion, Yarrow, Plantain, Burdock, Mugwort, Nettle, Oats, Chickweed, White Pine, Joe Pye, Bone Set, Comfrey, Elderberry, Jewel Weed and many more.
This is a beginners class that will be chock full of information that you will be able to use to help keep yourself and your friends and family healthy and happy. We will craft healing infusions, decoctions, salves, syrups, tinctures, poultices and maybe even a flower essence!
We will start the day at 10 am and immerse ourselves in the world of plants and herbology until the evening.
Camp in our beautiful meadow and enjoy off-grid gravity fed hot water showers and composting outhouse that are part of our permaculture farm and education center. Nourishing meals that we prepare together, some of which will be foraged on site, will take this class to another level.

In this Cooking Camp workshop I will attempt to translate to you, my mighty kitchen apprentice, all of the magical alchemy that takes place in my kitchen. We will go through the day making things that we all love to eat while discussing and demonstrating the finer points of nutrition and cooking techniques including: stocking a pantry, sharpening knives, making broths, soaking and sprouting, fermenting, roasting, cooking vegetables, sourdough, making dressings, salads and whatever else you want to learn about! We will be harvesting many vegetables from on site so you will gain insight and experience about kitchen gardening as well.
Each Kitchen Apprentice will send me a short list of favorite foods that you love to eat but don't quite know how to prepare and other food related things you are wanting to learn. I will choose a few items from your lists, combine it with some of my favorites, and create our menu. Sunday night we will FEAST and invite others to join us because it is truly the best thing in the world to share your food!

Immerse yourself in the theory and practice of Permaculture Design in this intensive 5-day course. Each participant will take part in analysis & assessment exercises, hands-on activities, and be immersed in abundant on-site examples of Permaculture Principles that will quickly hone your knowledge and practice of this Whole Systems design tool.
