Greetings all -- May is BIKE MONTH in NYC! :)
Juliana Dubovsky of the Queens Activist Committee for Transportation Alternatives (transalt.org) -- a leading NYC advocacy org for biking, walking and public transit -- will be joining us to talk about successful projects, on-going initiatives and how you can be part of the vision of safer, healthier, and more functional streets for bikers and pedestrians.
Please join us for the presentation and networking time.
We'll hear also hear about upcoming permaculture inspired bike tours and bike-related projects. During networking time, we can get creative juices flowing for more bike and permaculture inspired collaborations and hear about resources around the city.
Bring snacks to share, if you like.
We hope to see you there. :)
This meetup is held the first Tuesday and has two purposes.
First, it's a general networking opportunity for Permies in the area to meet each other and to provide mutual aid. What are you working on and where? What kind of collaborators and skills sets do you want to add to your team? Do you have an idea that you'd like to share just for feedback and exploration?
Second, this is an information session to increase knowledge about the numerous ways that permaculture can be applied in the world, from gardening/farming practices and land stewardship, to regenerative economic systems, community building, and nature connection.
*A $5 donation will be optional for our meetups. Proceeds help sponsor PDC students, establish and maintain demonstration sites, purchase land for a land trust network, and other sustainable culture educational projects in the Northeast. The PayPal link sends a donation to Green Phoenix Permaculture, a 501c3 organization.*
