How did you become interested in permaculture?

In 2007/08 I started working on a documentary about why the town of Reston was built. I grew up in the first village that was designed by the original planners Conklin & Rossant. I interviewed the founder, the original developer, Mr Robert E Simon, and a few early residents to make an initial pitch for funding. I took the Permaculture course while the editors supposedly were making a promo. after the course a lot of pieces came together. I realized the medium of film would educate but not offer the experience I wanted to convey. I started the MoS Collective to instigate experimental experiences of what life might be like if NYC were made up of many small participatory interconnected symbiotic communities -- a future where our bottom line priority is water air and soil and selves.

If you have taken a Permaculture Design Course, who was your was your teacher and what year did you receive your certification?
