Members of the Permaculture Meetup are cordially invited to...

The Indoor Gardening Society's annual Holiday Party and Review

with special guest founding member Virginie Elbert who is celebrating her 100th birthday!

As we have in recent years, we will review our past year of programs to see which ones were the most entertaining, informative and helpful. Members are asked to bring in plants that have benefited from these programs, in addition to the usual show-and-tell specimens. Before, during and after this consideration, we will eat, drink and be merry.

Please remember to notify Brenda Rivera [masked] or [masked]) with your projected food contribution immediately for the sake of variety. Plant sales table as usual.

To start you thinking, this year of programs included The Private Life of Plants – Flowering and The Social Struggle, The Palms of South Asia with Andrew Henderson, Succulents for Low Light Situations with Brenda Rivera, Horticultural Therapy with Gwen Fried, Propagation, Favorite Plants, Sinningias with Carolyn Ripps and Colombia’s Las Orquídeas National Park with Paola Pedraza.

We will also be joined by founding member Virginie Elbert and help her celebrate her 100th birthday. Please invite any past members of her acquaintance to drop by.

Happy holidays to all.

IGS is a great way to introduce adults and children to the importance of green plants. The more you know about botany and growing things, the more you understand their impact on every aspect of your life and their importance to human survival. They can beautify your home and freshen the air in it. They are strongly linked to many aspects of human history and development. They will heighten your appreciation of the outdoors and bring it inside for you to enjoy year-round. At each of our monthly meetings members will enjoy:

-a lecture about a horticulturally-related topic

-a plant sale making rare and unusual plants available at reasonable prices

-an exhibition of spectacular specimens often unknown to people outside the plant hobbyist world and often unseen at botanical gardens.

-access to supplies and information that can turn anyone from a novice to a successful grower
