NYC Python Users Group Meeting

  • Jun 17, 2008 · 7:00 PM
  • Daylife, Inc.

Group, **** TIME CHANGE **** To accommodate our hosts, we're now moving our meetings to be at 7 instead of 6:30. Thanks! **** SCHEDULE CHANGE **** **** LOCATION CHANGE **** We are having the June meeting on June 17th, NOT on June 10th as was earlier announced. Our meeting will be held at Daylife, Inc. Daylife is located at: 444 Broadway, Fifth Floor New York, New York 10013 Please ignore the earlier announcement that said we were meeting on June 10th. If you show up at Millennium Partners on June 10th, you can try to discuss Python with the building security guard, but there are no guarantees that he will have time to explain the inner workings of the import mechanism to you. One bonus on the new meeting space - no security lists to pre-register for - so if you want to email us your name, great, but it should be entirely unneeded for this meeting. We're planning on discussing PyGame at this meeting, but if you have a topic you'd be willing to do a lightning talk on, we may have time for several of those as well. Adult beverages will be consumed at a nearby location shortly after the conclusion of the meeting. My apologies for the earlier wrong announcements.... Thanks, -John Clark [masked] -Joe Bore [masked]

The facility was big enough. It took place at, which uses primarily Python. Pizza and beverages were provided. The presentation was professional. This group will get bigger as time passes. The group's web site,, will be important in expanding this group and providing related information. There is a strong movement towards dynamic languages and both Sun and Microsoft (which, basically, did not have their own). are supporting it.

Was good meeting everyone and talking. Would like the meetings to specify how advanced the topic/presentation(s) will be - perhaps alternate between beginner and advanced topics each month.
