Hey All, I work for Function(x) (http://www.functionxinc.com/), a technology driven media company that will re-define the way people consume traditional media (think television, radio, etc.) and entertainment each and everyday.
...
We're led by Geir Magnusson (http://www.functionxinc.com/team-members/geir-magnusson/), an internationally known leader and advocate in the open source space.  He's founded several significant open source projects such as Apache Geronimo and Apache Harmony.
...

Leif-
Since you are using The Commons to promote your Open Source(tm) based business, you can offer something, to make your post more interesting to our community. (Technically not quite the commons; this is owned by Meetup, on behalf of Matthew, who pays for this)

Recently, Fashion has become copyrighted, and US Patent Law has been overhauled, both at some expense of The Commons. Now, lobbyists are pushing US Congress to make hosts accountable for illegal content.
Currently, as I understand the law, uploaders and copyright owners  are responsible for maintaining the web, in general.
Soon, companies like YouTube, and Function(x) will be responsible. There's nobody like the US Government to re-define the way people consume media.

How will this emerging law impact Function(x), and what can be done about it?
Happy holidays, Bruce
