***This is a dinner at small vegan bakery and cafe (serving all-day breakfast) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There is one seating only at 7:00pm. Bring cash, it is cash only.***

Champs has a cult following among vegans in the New York CIty area. People trek from throughout the five boroughs and beyond to get here. It has an intensely devoted customer base, particularly among our group members. More people in our group rave about this small restaurant than any other restaurant, anywhere.

Their desserts are sinfully delicious and baked on premises. Their gourmet all-day vegan breakfast tastes so much like the real thing, you will swear you are eating real sausage and pancakes made with eggs and butter (their whole all-day breakfast menu is beyond compare). Their delicious sandwiches hit it out of the ball park. And it is all inexpensive! With such tremendously good food and prices that are a steal, you will not find a better vegan value anywhere in New York.

The Vegan In The Big Apple Blog exclaims: "Champs is a cute little vegan diner in Brooklyn, NY. The menu ranges from tempeh wings to sandwiches to salads and more and has a large breakfast menu served anytime. The menu is large and I like that it's so varied. My favorite thing at Champs is probably the soltero bowl. It comes with kale, quinoa, peppers, onions, field roast, mushrooms and home fries."

The soltero bowl is one of their healthy choices (and you can get it without the home fries if you want). But most people come here for the comfort food. Read on!

Three words: VEGAN GRAND SLAM.

Seriously speechless at the breakfast game here. Best tofu scramble, best french toast, best home fries, coffee, service, music, atmosphere, decadent desserts. My eyeballs popped at the menu.

Go here, especially for breakfast. I don't even know what else to say!! -Allyson D.

Vegan Eggs Benedict

Damn... what can I say about champs? I REGULARLY make the 45-minute trek there via subway because of how friggen good this place is! They're listed as a bakery for some odd reason though... which is probably why I had never found them in my searches for a vegan restaurant. Yes, they may have amazing baked goods (Pumpkin Chai Cream Cake!? Yes pleaseeeee), but I would list them as a Diner. I say diner to describe the atmosphere mind u, because their food is OUT of THIS WORLD! I regularly order the "Drunken Cowgirl" which is basically a big ass bowl of Spiced Scrambled tofu, potato, beans, cheese, Avocado, and a few others that I cant remember at the moment... with Garlic bread on the top. Their Ruben is equally amazingly flavorful. The servers all always happy, smiling, and laughing with the customers, and they play great music =) I will be back again... and again... and again... -Bryan M.

Tofu Scramble with cheese, on a fresh-baked roll

This place is the vegan bomb. Phenomenal selections of food all across the board, any time of day. I must have eaten here 100 times in the past year so this review is long overdue. Tofu Benedict, the breakfast slam dishes, the grinder, the hummus 'triple-decke', the buffalo chik'n sandwich, tuna melt, and hot cubano are some of my favorites, not to mention the incredible salads, the southwestern chik'n and the simple kale. You can go healthy, greasy, in between, breakfast, dinner, lunch, snack or a dessert with delicious cold-brewed iced coffee. This place nails it on every level. And the desserts are fantastic. Yes the cinnamon rolls are great, but they also have tons of other great options... I love Champs. Phenomenal. -Paco L.

Subway Directions: L Train to Lorimer St. or G Train to Metropolitan Ave. Champs is at the corner of Ainslee & Leonard Sts., and is about 3 blocks from either subway stop.
