What's this? Another Hackdays on functional programming?

Clojure (pronounced like "closure"[2]) is a recent dialect of the Lisp programming language created by Rich Hickey. It is a general-purpose language supporting interactive development that encourages a functional programming style, and simplifies multithreaded programming.

Clojure runs on the Java Virtual MachineCommon Language Runtime and can compile to JavaScript. Like other Lisps, Clojure treats code as data and has a sophisticated macro system.

David Nolen is a musician and curious programmer living in Brooklyn and currently employed at The New York Times. He has been writing JavaScript applications for nearly seven years, past projects include work for Princeton University,, The Modern Museum of Art, and JavaScript brought him to Lisp and he's been closely involved in the Clojure community for about three years. When he has a free moment he gleefully fixes bugs and improves the ClojureScript compiler in hopes that he can give back something fun to JavaScript.
