For June we are very excited to have Ramnath Vaidyanathan who is at the forefront of using R on the web, including this real-time visualization of the CitiBike stations: http://glimmer.rstudio.com/ramnathv/NYCBikeShare/ .
About the talk:
In this talk, I will focus on how to create and share interactive web-friendly content with R. You will learn how to create interactive presentations, visualizations, web pages, blogs, applications and dashboards, straight from R.
The advent of R Markdown and knitr have made it easy to create dynamic documents in different formats, including HTML. However, most content is still static and does not take full advantage of the web as an interactive medium. As a part of this talk, I will present a modular approach to inject interactivity into an R Markdown document using Slidify, rCharts and Shiny.
PS. Please note that this talk will NOT discuss any statistical ideas.

His research focuses on the application of empirical methodologies to aid operational decisions in various settings including assortment planning, pricing and revenue management. He holds a PhD in Operations Management from the Wharton School, and has worked at McKinsey and Company.
