We are working with our friends from www.circletheworld.com for this very special group trip opportunity to Cuba. They have brought groups to Cuba many times and are considered one of the foremost travel groups from many of our members who have used them for other trips. You have the option to join the group for 4 days or 7 days. Below is the itinerary and info for the 4 day trip. Payment information is below. You will need to arrange your own transportation from NYC area to Miami the night before our charter flight.
Wed: Dec 7 Arrival Miami Hotel
Arrive to Miami and transfer to Airport Hotel to meet group and trip leader. It is suggested to arrive anytime from 6-11pm.
Thursday, Dec 8: Havanna Arrival & Classic Convertible Sunset Drive
In the early morning we will transfer to Miami Airport for our Havana charter flight and check in as a group. Upon arrival in Havana, we'll drive half an hour to our conveniently located hotel. We'll absorb our first impression of the tropical air, rhythm and color wafting out of the doorways we pass, laughter and conversation bouncing amongst neighbors easily, meeting local people along the way. In the evening, we'll experience a special Classic Convertible car ride by sunset in Old Havana
Friday, Dec 9: Havana Old Town & Jazz Concert
After breakfast we begin our day with a talk on the history of the city’s restoration and fascinating past as told to us by an expert architect and city planner. We learn about the restoration which is necessary to provide housing for local inhabitants. Lunch will be O’ Reilly 304 (rated #1 on Tripadvisor). After lunch we will visit Taller de La Grafica and meet Cuban painters at their collective.
Street music and dancing celebrate the Cuban heritage of the people here. The feeling of cooperation and ingenuity are palpable and many of the people you will meet will surprise you with their multitude of talents, which they have had to develop to survive in a society lacking basic resources. In the evening, we'll view a private jazz concert by world renowned Cuban musicians!
Tonight we'll have dinner at a chosen Paladare (price not included). A paladar is a small family run restaurant licensed to provide meals in their homes. Here, you will taste some of the best food in Cuba as well as a experience being in the intimate, warm, and real spaces of local people. A trip to Cuba wouldn't be complete without trying one of the many Paladares.
Saturday, Dec 10: Local Cuban Art & Dance
Today we'll get up close and personal and visit the private home studio of world renowned artists Juan Moreira and Alicia Leal and see their exhibits as well as a very interesting modern art exhibit by a young up and coming artist. After lunch at Paladar Juana La Cubana, enjoy a children’s rueda dance performance with Cuba’s top children’s dance group. This group will amaze your with their talent! How well can you dance? In the evening we'll take a Cuban salsa dance class with amazing Cuban dancers.
Sunday, Dec 11: Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll transfer for the short trip to the airport for our flight to Miami and bid farewell to our new Cuban friends. We'll arrive Miami airport in time for you to board your evening flight in from Miami to your designated city arriving Sunday evening.
