We are holding our first ever event focused on the merging of the fashion industry with software technologies. This will be a panel style event led by the moderator Dalia Strum of FIT.

Michael Bryzek, Founder and CTO of Gilt Groupe

Michael Bryzek is the Founder & Chief Technology Officer of Gilt Groupe.

Michael brings to Gilt Groupe extensive experience in developing user-focused Internet software and a deep passion for leveraging technology.

Prior to Gilt Groupe, Michael founded Volunteer Solutions, an Internet-application service provider for the philanthropic sector. Volunteer Solutions was acquired by United Way of America in 2001. Michael then served as chief technology officer for United eWay, the United Way of America’s technology subsidiary.

He holds a BSc and Masters in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mike has worked as a developer on Style.com since 2006, and has been site lead or tech manager for the brand since 2008. He led the teams that delivered such award-winning, innovative features as: Move-It! Video integration with fashion slideshows; Instant fashion shows, offering real-time coverage and big, beautiful high-resolution images straight from the catwalk; and the Accessories Index, offering faceted search against a database of tens of thousands of designer shoes, bags and accessories.

For this meet-up, Mike will talk about the technological and business challenges of bringing the Instant fashion shows to life.

She has worked as a developer with everything from C++ to CSS, and she invests design time daily by drawing portraits of humanity and designing interactions steeped in empathy.
