NY Video February 2012 Meetup

Hi Everyone,

We hope you enjoyed our first meetup of the year last month. Thank you for helping us start out 2012 with a bang and selling out our event! We would love to keep the enthusiasm alive with our next meetup. We have sorted through countless companies and have hand-picked some very interesting people to demo their products/services this month. We think you are really going to enjoy their presentations and learn a lot of cool and relevant stuff, so don't miss out and grab those tickets while they are still available!

As always, we will have free pizza and beer! Presenters are listed below.

See you soon.

February Presenters:

President, Michael Owen, and Principal, Robin White Owen, will present some of their recent work which includes videos for the Brooklyn Navy Yards' new Building 92 museum and the A/V content for the New York Historical Society's new mobil apps. MediaCombo is an interactive and mobile media team dedicated to creating the best possible programs for museums, corporate and commercial clients.

LUA Technologies

Eli Bronner, one of the company Founders, will speak about his company's new digital approach to the film & TV production process and dive into their ideas of centralizing communication and scheduling so that the team can focus on substance. The result is an intimate on-set community that works better together.

Ryan Troy, Senior Director of Business Development and Will Robinson, Marketing Manager, will demo the recent launch of Boxee Live TV, which adds over-the-air or clearQAM live broadcast channels to everything Boxee already has from the Internet. Will and Ryan will also discuss the significant and stifling effects that a possible FCC rulemaking could have on innovators in the TV space.

Jun Group

Bill Common, Co-Founder of Jun Group, will demo their social video platform. Founded in 2005 on a simple principle: consumers dislike advertising, therefore advertising must evolve, Jun Group’s embedded video platform puts users in control and delivers millions of monthly video views across multiple screens. Every view Jun Group delivers comes from a person who actively selected the video on his or her own. This system drives significant and measurable value for their clients.

Diaz Nesamoney, CEO, will demo their advertising technology that specializes in interactive video ads that run cross platform (in a video player, on a web page, and on mobile). The Jivox technology enables brand advertisers, digital agencies and publishers to deliver highly engaging video ads powered by interactive and social sharing widgets. Jivox is the only provider that delivers and measures interactive video advertising online and to popular HTML5-compatible mobile devices, including the Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android devices and BlackBerry.

Get your tickets fast and be a part of the online video community! We sold out in record time last month and we would love you to be a part of the action!

I was definitely intrigued by Thursday's meetup. It was my first time attending, and I am definitely coming back. Although I didn't have a chance to meet and introduce myself much, I have five years experience in TV/video production and I'm currently looking for opportunities in network television or video production. I would love to learn more about this group and all it has to offer. I can be reached at [masked] and my LinkedIn page is
