- Bitcoin Pizza Day Meetup
On May 22, 2010 a software developer named Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 BTC for two pizzas, completing the first recorded purchase of physical goods using Bitcoin. At the time it cost him $41, but at today's value those BTC would be worth over $50 million! This became known as Bitcoin Pizza Day and serves as a great reminder of how far Bitcoin has come. No specific agenda or presentation for this one - just come out, grab a slice, and enjoy some fun conversation to commemorate this milestone in Bitcoin history. Pizza and a solid craft brew selection will be available for purchase. Looking forward to seeing you!
