What we’re about
We host exciting Swing dances and classes in Orange County, CA. Our events are for anyone/everyone who dances or would like to dance Swing! Alec Marken teaches group lessons that are beginner friendly, but challenging and fun for dancers of all levels of experience. Swing is a wonderful gateway into the world of ballroom/social/partner dancing. You will learn to lead and/or follow...to be able to have a physical conversation through your frame that will enable you and your partner to both enjoy what you've learned, and be creative together on the dance floor! You never have to bring a partner...we rotate everyone in classes, and the open dancing is very casual and friendly...ask anyone you wish, and enjoy a spin on the floor!
You will mostly experience dance music and movement from the 20's through 40's. You're likely to encounter all of the East Coast Swing flavors...Jitterbug, East Coast Triple Step, Charleston, Balboa, Shag, and Lindy Hop...and occasionally a bit of West Coast Swing. We dance to music going back to the 20's, yet including music from some of the best modern Swing bands out touring today!
Please wear clothes you can move in, and shoes that are flat and COMFORTABLE. See you on the floor!
