Online Community Manager will be responsible for designing and executing strategy around utilizing online community tools to engage and mobilize members locally.  The Online Community Manager will report to the Director of Outreach, work closely with the Internet Engagement Manager. Responsibilities:

•Design and implement a strategy and program for utilizing online community tools to support grassroots mobilization and advocacy goals. •Design and execute a strategy to re-engage, consolidate, delete, etc. current online groups. •Create a plan for re-launching groups including designing, implementing and evaluating the success of a pilot. •Create and continuously update a communications plan and relevant content and materials (including a tool-kit for new group leaders) to support group leaders to carry-out online and face-to-face activities. •Work with Engagement Team to mobilize local groups in support of advocacy efforts. •Work with Mobilization team and Internet Engagement team to identify potential community leaders and recruit them to start or lead online groups. •Provide guidance and technical assistance to group leaders and to people interested in starting groups. •Define success metrics and measure progress against those metrics. Requirements Include •Extensive experience with on-the-ground, grassroots mobilization •2+ years experience organizing online communities towards action, preferably advocacy related action; •Experience working across multiple functions in an organization to align goals and activities; •Experience providing customer service either to clients or in support of co-workers; •Strong communication, research and creative skills; •Education advocacy experience, passion for education reform, and/or knowledge of current issues in the education debate a plus.
