This example of goofy low-budget filmmaking done right is filled with so many references to famous movies that you can’t possibly catch them all in one viewing. It’s the story of an old movie palace’s staff who feel anxious about the opening of a new multiplex across the street. They never generated much revenue before the competition arrived, and now they don’t see how they can stay in business much longer. While this assessment isn’t surprising in light of the shenanigans they get up to during working hours, you can’t help but root for them against the corporate-Goliath competition.
