Deer Park Camping and Hike

This is a companion camping and hiking event to the Sunday, August 24 hike to Blue Mountain and Deer Ridge hike that Bobbie recently posted.

On Friday, August 22, I plan to drive my VW Westy campervan up to Deer Park Campround. I will find a site and hope others will join me. We can share the site.

On Saturday, August 23, I propose we hike the Obstruction Point Trail to Maiden Peak OR we hike the Three Forks Trail. Both these hikes depart from the Deer Park Campground. We can start at 10am.

The Maiden Peak hike is a 7.2 mile out-and-back trip with an elevation gain of 1,899 feet. We'll scamble to the top of the peak.

OR

The Three Forks trail is longer and more steep. It is an 8.3 mile out-and-back hike with an elevation gain of 3,241.

I hope there will be folks who want to camp out both Friday/Aug 22 and Saturday/Aug 23 nights. But if you only want to camp out one or no nights, that is fine. Perhaps you only want to do the Saturday hike. Fine.
