Join us on Monday, February 29, 2016 / 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated technology & learning center at the African American Community Services Agency. (http://www.sjaacsa.com/) This new state of the art technology center was possible through a generous community grant from Intel Corporation, and many volunteer hours donated by Intel employees. The ceremony will feature elected officials from the city and county, and Intel executives.
Also during the event, we will announce a amazing partnership with the African American Community Services agency and Intel. Starting in April, the Technology Hub will host two Saturday STEM programs for children. The first program is a Google CS First Computer Science club and is designed for children between the ages of 9-14. The second program is a Lego Robotics class which is designed for children between 12-14. Both programs are free and the children will be provided with lunch and snacks. If you have or know someone who has children who would benefit from the program, please contact me directly.
We will also be looking for volunteers. The idea is to have enough volunteers so that each volunteer can make 1-3 Saturdays a year. Again, I will send out more details later but I wanted to at least send out the preliminary information now.
We will have a Volunteer and Parent Information Session on March 12 at 1:00 pm at the Tech Hub.
Refreshments will be served. Open to the public.
