Energy Aware: Kickstarter Launch of Neurio

Misty West presenting the recent work on The Copenhagen Wheel.

More TBA

Featured talk by Energy Aware: Kickstarter Launch of Neurio - a revolutionary technology that makes an ordinary home smart. Neurio is a home intelligence centre that provides users with insight and awareness by monitoring the electrical panel and feeding its cloud algorithms. Using an inexpensive central sensor and without putting sensors on every device, Neurio monitors home appliances and user behavior. It provides timely notifications to residents, and integrates with existing Internet of Things (IoT) devices to coordinate them based on user intents.
Hear from the established team at Energy Aware, and learn about their new device and kickstarter campaign.

The Copenhagen Wheel is self-contained wheel replacement that can turn almost any bicycle into an electric hybrid. Complete with regenerative braking and controlled through the rider’s smartphone, the wheel provides power assist, while the phone serves as a gateway between riders, their bikes, and the city. The initial design was done through MIT’s SENSEable City Lab as a research project but is now being taken forward by Superpedestrian, a venture-backed company operating out of Cambridge, MA.

MistyWest has been responsible for the mechanical design of the current generation of product as well as for helping to build the engineering and design team that will continue the product development. Come out to hear more about both the product and the design process and challenges that went behind it.

Additional speakers to be announced.

Followed by Q&A, open mic and chance to meet others involved or interested in the Vancouver Hardware scene. Speakers and content will be posted shortly.
