Nima AdelKhani - Nima is the founder of PITME, which aims to "Turbo Charge the Middle East." As part of this effort PITME labs will bring growth stage companies from the MENA region for a month long immersion program supported by over 100 mentors. In his former role, Nima was head of business development for the Founder Institute, a global accelerator with operations in over 30 cities. He also helped to manage TheFunded.com and Founder Showcase. During his tenure, Nima helped launch over 300 startups. Prior to this, Nima worked in international business development. He has travelled in over 57 countries and speaks 4 languages.
Shayan Habib, Partner, Ideavelopers - EFG Hermes. Ideavelopers is a $50 Million technology venture fund focused on early stage technology companies. Shayan is based in Silicon Valley. His key responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating new venture capital investment opportunities in early stage technology companies, and structuring and negotiating transaction terms and conditions and conducting diligence. Previously, he worked with Arrow Capital and Lehman Brothers. He earned a B.A. in Economics and Math from UPenn.
Rehan Jalil, Venture Advisor, Mayfield Fund. Rehan is an Entrepreneur, Investor and Limited Partner in technology venture funds. Previously he was President of WiChorus (Tellabs subsidiary) and Senior Vice President of Tellabs. He led WiChorus as a founder and CEO through inception to eventual merger with Tellabs for about $200 million in cash and stock. He holds an AMP from Harvard Business School, an MSEE from Purdue University and BEEE from NED University.
Rand Owens, Co-founder Spartups Incubator. He is a graduate of San Jose State University 09’ in Political Science. While in college, Rand held the position of Community Outreach Liaison during which he remedied situations between constituents and government entities. After graduating, he took over a vending company, which he grew to $1.6M in gross sales. He has worked in the startup and SMB industries since he graduated by advising many companies in digital marketing strategies, branding, user acquisition strategies, sales, business development and strategic partnerships.
Moderated by Shoieb Yunus who is a charter member of OPEN Silicon Valley. At OPEN SV, Shoieb leads the Launch Pad program designed to bridge the gap between the entrepreneurs and the investors. He is an entrepreneur, seasoned product marketing professional and an indie filmmaker. AuthenTec, now Apple, acquired Shoieb’s first startup EzValidation, a biometric software company. He earned BS in Computer Science from University of Kentucky.
