You will have a chance to have an open discussion with Neil Hutson, GM of Engineering Engagement and Evangelism - https://www.linkedin.com/in/neil-hutson-9a85b9/ Micheleen Harris, Machine Learning Lead - https://www.linkedin.com/in/neil-hutson-9a85b9/ Hannah Krager, Machine Learning Lead - https://www.linkedin.com/in/hannahkrager/ Nigel Parker, Chief Engineer, CSE Asia - https://www.linkedin.com/in/nzigel/ • Demo: Large Scale DNN Training with Tensorflow, Horovod and Keras In this lightning talk we’ll do a quick lap around options for training large scale Tensorflow models. We’ll discuss patterns of scale out including the ScatterReduce-AllGather MPI communication approach. In this session you’ll see how to train across multiple GPUs and Multiple machines running multiple GPUs in the Azure cloud. Chris Auld - Engineering Manager for the Microsoft CSE team covering South East Asia https://www.linkedin.com/in/cauld/ • AI on the Edge (Open Neural Network Exchange format) There is a trend to move machine learning models closer to where they are being executed. In this session Nigel will demonstrate ways to build image classification models that can be run disconnected from the Internet on Android, iOS and Windows ML using both customvision.ai and other transfer learning techniques. Nigel will also talk about Windows ML for offline hardware accelerated execution of ONNX.ai (Open Neural Network Exchange format) machine learning models in the next version of windows

  • TimescaleDB: The Full-SQL, Scalable, Open-Source Time-Series Database

    Magnolia Room, 1st Floor,

This Open Source Bangalore Meetup will focus on a new time-series database technology: TimescaleDB (http://www.timescale.com/). TimescaleDB is the only open-source time-series database that natively supports Full-SQL at scale. It is packaged as a PostgreSQL extension and correspondingly inherits Postgres' query power, reliability and ease-of-use while scaling to data volumes traditionally reserved for NoSQL systems. TimescaleDB is optimized for fast ingest, complex queries and operational simplicity. In just 10 months, developers have downloaded TimescaleDB over 100,000 times, trusting it for powering mission-critical applications, including industrial data analysis, complex monitoring systems, operational data warehousing, financial risk management, and geospatial asset tracking. TimescaleDB is deployed in industries as varied as manufacturing, utilities, oil & gas, mining, smart spaces, ad tech, finance, telecom, and more. More information about Timescale: - Documentation: http://docs.timescale.com/v0.8/main - GitHub: https://github.com/timescale/timescaledb - Blog: https://blog.timescale.com/ Joining us from New York City based TimescaleDB are Ajay Kulkarni (Co-Founder & CEO) and Matvey Arye (Core Database Engineer). Between the two of them, they will give 3 talks covering what time-series data is, why they built TimescaleDB (i.e., the problem being solved), the power of PostgreSQL, use cases and more. Timescale Team: http://www.timescale.com/about ~~ Agenda ~~ Pre-event Networking Introduction: Jeeva introduces the Meetup, Ajay introduces Timescale + team. 1st talk: "TimescaleDB: Re-engineering PostgreSQL as a time-series database" - Matvey Arye 2nd talk: "The Inadvertent IoT Platform: PostgreSQL!" - Ajay Kulkarni 3rd talk: "Using PostgreSQL, Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring metrics" - Matvey Arye Post-event Networking

  • BlockChain, Ethereum, and Smart Contract - with hands-on

Thought Factory, Axis Bank Innovation Lab

NOTE: We have launched a dedicated meetup for blockchain, please join https://www.meetup.com/EthereumBlr Agenda: Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Session 1: Introduction to Blockchain, Ethereum and Quorum Session 2: Hands on workshop on Smart Contract Development by Ijaz Session 3: The Anatomy of ERC721 token by Priyabrata Dash Session 1: [TODO] Session 2: Hands on workshop on Smart Contract Development Abstract: In this workshop we will introduce you to Smart Contract, Solidity, Tuffle and other tools for Smart Contract Development. During the session, we will develop and test a smart contract in a test ethereum network. Speaker: Ijaz, Blockchain Architect Session 3: The Anatomy of ERC721 token by Priyabrata Dash Abstract: Many have heard of the new game on the Ethereum blockchain called CryptoKitties. The new game recently made several headlines within the cryptocurrency community because of its extremely unique idea and the dent it’s made on the Ethereum network. Ethereum Request for Comments 721, or ERC721, is an Ethereum Improvement Proposal introduced by Dieter Shirley in late 2017. It’s a proposed* standard that would allow smart contracts to operate as tradeable tokens similar to ERC20. ERC721 tokens are unique in that the tokens are non-fungible. This talk is to explain this standard and how it redefines the future of Digital tokens on Blockchain. Speaker: Priyabrata Dash Crypto Currency Blogger, Data Analyst, Blockchain Evangelist & Entrepreneur at CryptBytesTech • What to bring Laptop with 64bit Operating system Setup for hands For windows 1. • Location Intelligence: Storage and Analytics

    Zendrive (3rd Floor)

Location data is important for variety of businesses like E-commerce, Car rentals, Food Delivery, Accident Response System etc. From just two dimensional information (latitude, longitude) recorded on phone, location data can reveal useful insights like areas of highest demands, street with highest fraud rates, intersections with highest accidents etc. This is possible when the raw location data is processed, stored and analyzed properly along with the business data. Various open source tools enable this, for example, barefoot (https://github.com/bmwcarit/barefoot), open street map (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenStreetMap), elastic search (https://www.elastic.co/) etc. Goal of this meetup is to discuss such open source technologies and how different companies are making use of them in their business. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the titles and speakers of the talks scheduled for the meetup:- Primer on Location Data - Manish Sachdev (Zendrive) Location Based Service using PostgresSQL - Darshan (latlong.in) Location Tracking & Enrichment - Agam Jain (Zapr) Map Data Storage - Manish Sachdev (Zendrive)

    Magnolia Room, 1st Floor,

    • What we'll do Jenkins Pipeline/BlueOcean Hackathon Pipeline as Code is the capability that Jenkins 2.0 brings to the community. The year-end Pipeline/BlueOcean Hackathon brings the community together to triage and fix some of the bugs in the Pipeline infrastructure. As a warmup exercise, we will be reviewing existing bugs and how they were fixed. If you have ideas to build something cool and useful, this is the event you want to be at ! Important references are Jenkins-Groovy-Plugin https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Pipeline+Groovy+Plugin Jenkins JIRA https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa • What to bring Please get a fully-charged laptop with you. It would be helpful if you have installed OpenJDK on your system.
