South Bay OpenStack Meetup, Beginner track

These meetups are community based and focused. The Beginner track is for someone with little to no experience with OpenStack. You can be just interested in expanding your devOps horizons or someone that just wants to learn more about this cloud thing. The Intermediate track is for a experienced devOps, some python experience, and an understanding of OpenStack core. Some advanced OpenStack devOps will join the hackathon from time to time. The Advanced track is for seasoned OpenStack devOps to discuss blueprints and code. Each Advanced devOps meetup will focus on a different OpenStack core project.

Drink, food, whiteboards and wifi provided by Yahoo! Bring a laptop if you want to code or to install DevStack to take away with you. These meetups will run on alternate weeks from the San Francisco meetups. All the cool kids go to both.

Updates will be published via the meetup email list, OpenStack community blog, and twitter via @sarob

I'm going to run the beginner track this week.

This week I'm planning to do our traditional OpenStack Intro and Architecture Overview and some Horizon/CLI Demo.

Let me know your thought :)

localrc example for devstack I used.
The file is broken into parts cause of char limitation of the comment.

    # NOTE: Copy this file to the root ``devstack`` directory for it to
    # work properly.

    # Minimal Contents
    # ----------------

    # Note setting value below to localhost with prevent noVNC in Horsizon working,
    # to fix that use the real static IP of your eth0 or
    # after stack-up, change novncproxy_base_url to match real IP and
    # re-start nova-compute

    # Logging
    # -------

    # Old log files are automatically removed after 7 days to keep things neat. Change
    # the number of days by setting ``LOGDAYS``.

I spent last few weeks looking at openstack and this session was a great source to validate my understanding of the internal flows between its various components. I think the content was good in today's session.
Would like to attend more hands on session in the future

Thanks for the great session yesterday. Interesting info on OpenStack real world deployments and on Nuova schedulers possibilities as well as OpenStack overview/request flow.

Can we post the link to slides.
