South Bay OpenStack Meetup, Beginner track

  • Oct 2, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

These meetups are community based and focused. The Beginner track is for someone with little to no experience with OpenStack technology. Perhaps you are interested in expanding your DevOps horizons. Or maybe you are someone that just wants to learn more about "this cloud thing." This track is for you!

The Intermediate/Hackathon track is for experienced folks in DevOps, some python experience, and an understanding of OpenStack core. Some advanced OpenStack DevOps will join the hackathon from time to time.

The Advanced track is for seasoned OpenStack DevOps to discuss blueprints and code. Each Advanced DevOps meetup will focus on a different OpenStack core project.

Attend remotely via a Google Hangout (if we can get this to work). The link will be posted here.

Updates will be published via the meetup email list, OpenStack community blog, and twitter via @sarob or @hpcloudangel.

Did anyone happen to find a ring at the venue yesterday. I dropped it by mistake and did not notice it till later. Please let me know if you found it or even turn it in to the organizers/security(lost and found). I will really appreciate your help.

Any updates...? Is this meeting still on, and if so, is there a google hangout or similar?

There was a note from Sean Hackathon #OSSFO meeting cancelled. Not sure if this one is different from hackathon. Can someone confirm if this meeting is there today?

Hi, do people help each other in these meetups or is there some agenda and discussion?

I am an OpenStack beginner and my goal is to run a successful deployment in the meetup today. For the last few days I installed OS on CentOS 7 via the RDO process in a dedicated server on a colo. I would like to use it to both manage and deploy VMs on it.

Things mostly work after a string of hiccups this week. As of now, I cannot seem to get an instance started properly enough to install CentOS on it (no volume is started or can be attached). I am sure this is my fault, as I am learning as I go.

If the format is people helping each other, I will be wearing a RedHat baseball cap today, so you can avoid me easily ;-)

Is there going to be a google hangout for the Openstack meeting (10/2) tonight?
