South Bay OpenStack Meetup, Beginner track

These meetups are community based and focused. The Beginner track is for someone with little to no experience with OpenStack. You can be just interested in expanding your devOps horizons or someone that just wants to learn more about this cloud thing.

Mirantis will be leading the discussion. Video and audio access via WebEx at https://yahoomeetings.webex.com/yahoomeetings/j.php?ED=160663867&UID=492396097&RT=MiM0

Drink, food, whiteboards and wifi provided. These meetups will run on alternate weeks from the San Francisco meetups. All the cool kids go to both.

Updates will be published via the meetup email list, OpenStack community blog, and twitter via @sarob

I have been working with AWS and Chef for a year now. Yesterdays presentation helped me understand how OpenStack is empowering companies to continue using their current current virtualization/cloud infrastructure while at the same providing them with the power of open source and open standards. It's a win-win situation.

I really enjoyed the meetup, thanks Mirantis!

OpenStack has gotten chaotic and it seemed like trying to fit it all in the hour made it feel cramped.

For an intro, did you feel it was too Technical and not higher level enough ? Normally there are far more questions

Yeah, i think that it probably went into the nitty-gritty too much. Focus on the core elements and show some examples. Describing the provisioning process was overkill, even if it was interesting.

Mirantis' presentations are easily one of the best introductions to OpenStack. Yesterday's presentation is better organized than the one given, also by Mirantis, in September 2012

By the way, even the September 2012 itself was very good.

Much more convenient from finding the location and no security hassle. Presentation gets better all the time, but its always best with 2Bori$ and his sense of Humor

It was a great presentation for those who have very little knowledge about OpenStack.

WARNING!: 101 is standstill. Air Force 1 just landed at Moffett Field.
Maybe your best bet to to come down Ellis from Middlefield.
Or maybe start at Moffett Blvd (North end of Castro) and come up frontage roads.

Cancelled in-person RSVP and meetup automatically freed up spot and gave it to the next person in the waitlist.
