Summer in Berlin has a pretty low signal-to-noise ratio, don't you think? What better way to cope with a flimsy sunlight than a friendly gathering with fellow creative coders?

The Processing Code Jam is an open creative coding event based on a simple idea: build a project from scratch in a day. It is a place to experiment, meet other coders, get creative, challenge yourself (and maybe even fail spectacularly!) It's all okay and there will be no pressure other than self-imposed: build it, show it, throw it!

The way it works is we choose a theme for the day and make teams or go solo to build a generative, interactive or otherwise code-based prototypes. Some previous experience with Processing is recommended but everyone can join! Designers, artists, coders, writers, game-designers, musicians, everyone! And don't be put off by the “Processing” label; users of PureData, OpenFrameworks, Cinder, Touch Designer, and others are also very welcome.

Bring your ideas, hardware, friends and some food to keep you going during this whole day of relaxed (but intense) computational creativity. The jam will be followed by a presentation of the projects. Don't worry if you never came to an OTS event before, we'll make presentations and the teams will form around a project and by affinity.

There's only one rule: “If this is your first time at the Processing Code Jam, you have to code!”

The event is free thanks to co.up coworking. You can return their kindness by buying some of their 1.50€ drinks!

Note: Please post a theme suggestion for the Jam in the comments. We will hold a voting session to chose the main themes at the beginning of the day. In case you wonder what a theme looks like, here are the ones from the previous edition: "the color of sound", "grasshoppers" and "time".
