• Introduction to Programming with Python - Game Version
Due to its popularity, the workshop is now offered again to the people of Tel-Aviv to get them started in programming using Python - no prior knowledge required. So if you are interested in learning programming hands-on and with amazing coaches around, please sign up. And yes, it's free. This time we will learn using a computer game developed by one of the OTS Tel Aviv organizers. Apart from the instructors that will be there as usual to help you take off, expect a fun and engaging teaching method that resembles how we learn to speak our native language when we are children. On the other hand, expect a few bugs since this is new software. Luckily, our instructors will be there to help. The workshop is self-learned with the assistance of many coaches that move among the learners. The main target group of this workshop is people who are completely new to programming and want a "soft start", with support from fellow learners and from our coaches. That said -- If you attended last time and would like to continue to more advanced material, that's great! Note that you will make the most of this workshop if you take some time to play with what you learned at home between the workshops. Bring some beautiful things you built to show the group! If you already know how to program and want to learn python, please come but do contact us in advance. Our team of coaches will prepare relevant learning materials (but only if we know you're coming). If you already know your way around python and would like to help others learn, we would like you to come as a coach. If that's the case, please (after rsvp-ing) talk to us, so we'll get to know you a bit and possibly increase our learner capacity. You will need to bring your own laptop in order to participate with the Chrome (https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/) web browser installed. If you need help with this, please let the organizers know in advance so they can help you set it up. If you're coming to learn more advanced material, please also install Python 2.7. Because the number of seats is limited, it is important that you only sign up if you definitely plan on coming (and do so, too!). If you can't make it for any reason, please cancel your attendance on Meetup right away so your someone on the waiting list can take your place. Thanks!

  • Introduction to Programming with Python
After running this workshop successfully once in Tel Aviv, twice in Berlin and more often in Melbourne and Stockholm, it is now offered again to the people of Tel-Aviv to get them started in programming using Python - no prior knowledge required. We will be hosted once again by Hamifal (http://hamifal.com/), who are kindly providing us with the beautiful and comfortable learning space pictured below. The address is Bar-Yochai 5, Tel Aviv (http://goo.gl/maps/gWRhm) (map (http://goo.gl/maps/gWRhm)). Due to requests, the workshop will begin at 19:00, half an hour earlier than originally published. Wow! The waiting list is so long that even after more coaches will register and we increase the workshop size accordingly, there will still probably be some people left out because the venue can't accomodate so many. Don't worry - we're going to host this workshop again soon. In the meantime, please RSVP anyway in case more places appear, and please unRSVP if you can't make it, so that somebody else can take your place.

  • Team Kick-Off Meeting
After the very successful Python Workshops Saturday 15th and Monday 17th, there is a high interest to make this an on-going thing. So, let's get together in the lovely beer garden of Café Dalia and see how to make this happen. So anyone, who is interested in helping organizing those events and wants to learn more on how to do that the OpenTechSchool is highly welcomed. Let's kick off OpenTechSchool Tel Aviv with its own local Team!

  • Micro-Workshop and Python Follow-up
As requested this is a micro-follow up of the Python Workshop from last Saturday. We will continue working on the beginners material (http://opentechschool.github.io/python-beginners/), but you can also go on with the Facebook Client (https://github.com/OpenTechSchool/python/wiki/Facebook-Client), Data Processing (http://opentechschool.github.io/python-data-intro/) or any of the other python workshops (http://python.opentechschool.org/), if you are already through them. Or you can start totally from scratch if you want. As always there will be experienced python coaches around to help you. Please keep your RSVP up to date and have fun.

Though the event is full already, please subscribe to the waiting list. We are currently trying to secure a bigger venue and then we can raise the amount of learners, who can join.
