Welcome to ORLCAPEX NYC's 4th meetup! Hungry? I hope so... Last month we collected $104 dollars in donations - that's enough to order some pizza! After we've had our fill, Patrick Maniraho will introduce us to Tabular Forms!

One of the most efficient ways for allowing end users to see and manipulate data is to present it in an editable table format. Oracle Application Express (APEX) offers this functionality through a component called a Tabular Form. In this presentation, attendees will learn the basics of tabular forms including how to create and maintain them. Additionally, attendees will see examples of when and where these tools are better suited for data representation.

Patrick is a Software Developer at Oracle Corporation in New York. He joined the APEX team in 2010 and has worked on features including Data Loading and Desktop & Mobile calendars. He is also interested in other web and mobile technologies notably the Android platform. Patrick has Master's degree in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (USA) and a Post-Diploma in Management Information Systems from Maastricht School of Management (Holland).

This presentation will be the first in a series on tabular forms. Make sure you're there as each session will build on concepts previously covered! In the second half of the meetup we'll have a round table discussion. Do you have a nagging question about APEX? Are you stumped trying to solve a business requirement with the framework? If so, bring your questions and we'll work as a team to find some answers!

At the end, provided there's any time left, we'll open up the floor for some Lightening Demos. Have you done something cool you'd like to share? Know a little trick that may benefit the community? This is your chance to show the world! Or at least the people in the room... Seriously though, if you're interested in doing a Lightening Demo, please let us know ahead of time so that we may plan ahead.

Here's an overview of the agenda:

• 6:00pm - Come on up for light drinks, pizza, and socializing

• 6:15pm - Announcements

• 6:20pm - Patrick Maniraho presents An Introduction to Tabular Forms in APEX

• 7:10pm - Round-table discussion

• 7:45pm - Lightning Demos

• 8:00pm - All good things must come to an end...

But wait, there's more! For those of you that are hungry for more socializing, drinks, or even food, a group of us will take to the streets of NYC to satisfy your desires during APEX After Hours. Everyone is invited to join but your bill is your own. :D
