Hybrid online/in-person writing class: Food Politics | June 2,30,Aug 4 + online
Three in-person sessions at WEI, with reading, writing and online interaction in between. Cost: $175/person (includes book). Deadline to register is May 5, 2018 at 12:00pm. Instructor: Stacey Foster, MA Fine Arts Hamline, English and College Readiness Faculty, Pine Technical and Community College. Course Description: A unique writing course on the topic of food politics. Readings will come from Food Matters, a reader including essays and writings by prominent writers in the food world. The class will include three face-to-face meetings on WEI’s farm campus where you can have a chance to share your writings, meet other students, and tour and engage with the farm. The class will be supplemented with online resources and discussions utilizing Google Classroom in between the face-to-face sessions. When: June 2 & 30, August 4 Time: 11:00am – 3:00pm What to Bring: When the class meets at the farm, bring: • a dish to share for lunch. • a story to share about the food you bring. • writing materials. Women's Environmental Institute is a nonprofit working farm & orchard with a CSA program, booths at farmer's markets, and a teaching mission.
